End of Life and End of Support

  • A product's End of Life (EOL) marks the date that particular program version is retired to make way for the latest available version.
  • End of Support (EOS) refers to the date the program stops downloading updates. In addition, technical support will only be limited to users with valid licenses for upgrading to the latest version.

Trend Micro Consumer Product Lifecycle Policy

The Trend Micro Consumer Product Lifecycle Policy is designed to standardize support guidelines across product lines. By creating predictability in product support timeline, customers and partners can make better decisions about product migration and version upgrades.

  • In general, the policy consists of these key points: Trend Micro no longer sells a product two years from its release date. Registration also stops at this time.
  • Bug fixes for a product stops two years from its release date.
  • Trend Micro discontinues product support three years from its release date (or one year from the end-of-life date).
  • Knowledge base (KB) updates stop four years from the product release date (or two years from the end-of-life date).
